Yes! To date, we have donated over 7,500 of our real food collagen bars to fuel frontline workers at local Vancouver hospitals.
We will also be continuously running frontline and essential worker giveaways on our Instagram page. We are always looking for ways to support our community during these unprecedented times. If you have any ideas on how we can help, feel free to email firstname.lastname@example.org.
What health and sanitization protocols are in place at your warehouses?
Our warehouses are taking many steps to minimize the risk to everyone in the supply chain, including staff. They have intensified hygiene protocols within the warehouse and have limited visitor access. We work with GMP (good manufacturing practice) facilities, so thorough cleaning protocols are top priority.
Staff members are provided personal cleaning materials and have access to adequate supplies on site. Social distancing protocols are also in place in our warehouse facilities as per CDC and Health Canada recommendations
Will there be shipping delays due to COVID-19?
Orders shipping to Canada and the US should not experience any significant delays with shipping. Our warehouses are working extremely hard to get orders out to customers ASAP.
International orders may experience shipping delays due to COVID-19. We cannot make any guarantees on shipping timeframes for international orders right now.
What do I do if my tub is missing its scoop?

What type of collagen is in your bars and how much?
Our bars each contain 7 grams of our wild-caught Marine Collagen.
What types of fish are in your marine collagen?
The fish that we source are predominantly pollock and haddock with some cod. All from regulated North Atlantic fisheries. Learn more about our Marine Collagen here.

Yes! Our North American pasture-raised, grass-fed collagen is also grass-finished. There are no added hormones, antibiotics or pesticides either.

Does Sproos use filler, artificial sweeteners, artificial flavours or artificial colours?
No! We have been careful to ensure that our products are as clean as possible, with none of these things included. A few of our products do contain natural flavours, which are both non-gmo and vegan.
Is there sugar in any of the products?
In our bars, we naturally sweetened them with dates and chocolate chips. In our enhanced beverage blends, we use a blend of organic stevia, erythritol and monk fruit as a neutral tasting sweetener blend. All of our other products are unflavoured and unsweetened.
Are there any side effects of Sproos?
‘Mild gastrointestinal disturbance’ can be a possible side effect with collagen consumption as per Health Canada. Although we rarely hear this as feedback, sensitivity varies from person to person.
Does the Marine Collagen contain heavy metals?
All of our products undergo rigorous testing for heavy metals and contaminants. We’re pleased to say our marine collagen meets the most stringent worldwide standards for heavy metals and is well below the Canadian permitted level.
Does your marine collagen taste fishy?
No, it really is almost flavourless, and we are told often that our collagen is the most tasteless marine collagen our customers have tried. You can see reviews for our marine collagen here. We recommend taking your pure collagen in coffee, tea or a smoothie which will mask any perceptible taste.
What is collagen?
Collagen is an amino acid protein that occurs naturally in our body. It provides strength and structure for our connective tissues. Please explore our Collagen 101 section to learn more!
What’s the difference between your single collagen products (Grass-Fed Collagen and Marine Collagen) and your enhanced collagen blends?
Sproos Grass-Fed Collagen and Marine Collagen are pure sources of collagen only, and are a great way to receive the all-round benefits of collagen. They are flavourless, dissolve easily and can be added to your favourite hot or cold beverage, or even to certain foods (e.g. soups, oatmeal or baking).
Our enhanced collagen blends build on our core collagen ingredient and enhance it with other active ingredients, all of which are focused on benefitting the target area (skin and hair, gut or joints) of that product. We then add our custom 0g customer natural sweetener blend and light, natural flavour to make a delicious, refreshing beverage when added to cold water. Sproos Up Your Skin & Hair, Sproos Up Your Gut and Sproos Up Your Joints combine amazing ingredients with simplicity: they are an easy way to enhance your skin and hair, gut or joint health.
Are Sproos products tested?
All of our products undergo rigorous testing for heavy metals and contaminants. We’re pleased to say our marine collagen meets the most stringent worldwide standards for heavy metals and tests well below the Canadian permitted level.
Where are Sproos products manufactured?
All of our products are manufactured in Canada at highly respected and Health Canada approved facilities. Our manufacturers hold numerous Natural Health Product industry certifications, including certification as a Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) manufacturer and/or SQF certifications.
How much collagen should I take per day?
Health Canada advises taking 5-10g of collagen per day to receive the benefits. We follow that guidance. You will occasionally see some international brands suggesting much larger doses; that is not necessary if a high quality, pure source of collagen is being used, as we do at Sproos.
Can children take Sproos?
You should only consider giving children our pure collagen products (Grass-Fed Collagen and Marine Collagen). However, we recommend that you talk to your paediatrician before introducing your children to collagen, as each child’s nutritional needs will differ, and children don’t inherently need collagen, as their bodies produce plenty of collagen at their young age.
Are Sproos’ products safe for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding?
Please see the caution wording on each individual Sproos product which reflects Health Canada recommendations. In addition, we always recommend talking with your doctor first before taking any supplement as nutritional needs can vary during pregnancy and when breastfeeding.
For more information on collagen and pregnancy and breastfeeding: read this article on our blog.
Is Sproos collagen vegan?
No, there are no true vegan sources of collagen as collagen comes from animal sources. Read more here.
Where can I learn more about the other ingredients that Sproos uses?

How should I use Sproos?
Each of our products vary in the best ways to consume them! We make it easy to get your daily collagen in.
Our pure hydrolyzed collagen powders (Marine or Grass-Fed) are unflavoured and unsweetened so they can be added to pretty much anything! That includes any of your hot or cold beverages, but they are also great in smoothies, stews, baking, oatmeal, etc. Our Performance Multi-Collagen is best added to warm beverages or blended into shakes or smoothies.
Our enhanced collagen blends (Sproos Up Your Joints, Gut, Skin & Hair) are lightly flavoured and sweetened so they are best added to 12-16oz of cold water or into your favourite smoothies.
Our Collagen Greens is a clean, unflavoured and unsweetened greens powder. So you can take it on it’s own if you love your greens, but we recommend adding it into a smoothie to make an easy, healthy greens smoothie!
Our MCT Collagen Creamer is also unflavoured and unsweetened, but because of MCT powder, it adds a natural creaminess to anything you add it to. It’s a favourite in warm beverages like coffee or tea as a milk or creamer substitute.
Our Collagen Bars are designed to be enjoyed on-the-go and come in a variety of four delicious flavours.
How long should I take Sproos’ products for?
There is no number of months for the minimum amount of months to take the products. We recommend making Sproos an ongoing part of your daily health regime. In most instances, we would recommend taking Sproos for a minimum of one month to start feeling the benefits. However, benefits will vary from person to person depending on their individual make up, diet and lifestyle.
