  • It is often said, with good reason, that the gut is the seat of good health. Many adverse symptoms may be rooted in gut dysfunction, also known as “leaky gut” syndrome. In an unhealthy gut the intestinal wall is compromised, which allows toxins, bacteria and pathogens to pass through into the bloodstream. Optimal gut health is not simply about improved digestion, it also contributes to a lighter, brighter mood and gives you the energy you need to live the life you love!

Thankfully, Sproos™ is here to help! Our gut blends a synergistic combination of 6 active ingredients (grass-fed bovine collagen, organic inulin, L-glutamine, organic ginger, quercetin and organic aloe vera gel) designed to work from within to help defend, soothe and heal the gut. The result? A powerful formula that delivers a unique blend of protective, anti-inflammatory and regenerative effects.

We keep it simple: take one scoop or sachet daily with water, and give your gut the healing support it’s been craving.

  • Recommended purpose: helps to support and maintain a healthy digestive system, and is a source of fiber and antioxidants.

Using Sproos: Add one scoop or sachet per day to 355 – 473 mL of cold water and shake or stir well until fully dissolved or add to your favourite smoothie.

Caution: If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, consult a health care practitioner prior to use. If you have liver or kidney disease or if you have been instructed to follow a low protein diet, consult a health care practitioner prior to use. Consult a health care practitioner if symptoms persist or worsen. For the use of Quercetin beyond 3 months, consult a health care practitioner. Collagen may cause mild gastrointestinal disturbances. Hypersensitvity to inulin has been known to occur.

What’s Inside

Medicinal Ingredients

  • Hydrolyzed Collagen (from grass-fed bovine hides)

Collagen is the most abundant protein found in the body and is an integral part of our connective tissue, including the gut. Collagen types 1 and 3, found in grass-fed bovine collagen, play a significant structural role, where they contribute to the elasticity, strength and integrity of tissues. Hydrolyzed collagen is a valuable source of both essential (which must be obtained through diet) and non-essential amino acids, which are the building blocks for the formation of new collagen in the body. These amino acids benefit our gut, joint and skin health. In terms of gut health, research has shown that the specific amino acids found in hydrolyzed collagen are essential to optimizing the immune functions of the intestine, and help to maintain the integrity, growth and function of the intestine. In addition, studies have shown hydrolyzed collagen to provide benefits in maintaining joint health and reducing the risk of joint deterioration, as well as improving the pain associated with degenerative joint changes.

  • Organic Ginger

Ginger is one of the most widely consumed spices in the world. It is a powerful anti-inflammatory, known to reduce pro-inflammatory markers in the blood. It contains a number of potent substances, such as gingerols and gingerone, which possess a variety of biological activities that may support gut health. Gingerols, for example, have proven antioxidant and anti-inflammatory capabilities, so may protect and soothe the gut lining. Gingerone is also an inflammatory and possesses anti-diarrhoeic and antispasmodic effects, easing gut discomfort; gingerone may also act as an appetite stimulant.

  • Organic Aloe Vera Leaf Gel

Aloe vera gel is the clear, jelly-like substance found in the inner part of the aloe plant leaf. Aloe vera gel is a demulcent with gastroprotective properties: it soothes irritation and inflammation in the gut. Aloe vera gel may reduce overall severity of gastrointestinal symptoms in those with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). It has been shown to improve abdominal pain and discomfort, as well as flatulence, in patients with constipation-predominant IBS.

  • Organic Inulin (from Organic Jerusalem Artichoke)

Inulin is a soluble plant fiber and prebiotic. In the colon, inulin is fermented to produce short chain fatty acids, fuel for beneficial bifidobacteria. Inulin helps to stimulate beneficial bacterial growth in the gut, and reduces the number of potentially harmful bacteria and species. Inulin has also been shown to improve constipation in constipated individuals, reduce the risk of colon cancer, and improve the management of inflammatory bowel diseases. We source our organic inulin from organic Jerusalem Artichoke.

  • L-Glutamine

L-Glutamine is the most abundant amino acid in the body and is an important fuel source for intestinal cells. Glutamine is crucial for mounting an intestinal cell response against inflammation and injury. Dietary addition of L-glutamine improves intestinal integrity as well as the digestion and absorption of nutrients. Individuals with leaky gut (i.e. increased intestinal permeability) may benefit from supplemental glutamine in their diet.

  • Quercetin (from the flower of Styphnolobium japonicum)

Quercetin is a flavonoid with positive effects on the immune response and inflammation. Flavonoids, such as quercetin, have potent antioxidant capabilities and scavenge free radicals to protect gut cells. Quercetin halts the inflammatory process regulated by neutrophils (a type of white blood cell). This prevents the release of pro-inflammatory histamine and leukotrienes and minimizes allergic and gut symptoms.

Non-Medicinal Ingredients

  • Organic Erythritol

Erythritol is a sugar substitute that looks and tastes like sugar, but has almost no calories. Erythritol is described as having a zero glycemic index, and it has not been found to affect blood sugar or insulin levels. Organic erythritol is made by breaking down the starch from organic (non-GMO) corn to make glucose. Glucose is then fermented with yeast or another fungus to produce organic erythritol. Erythritol is almost fully absorbed in the small intestine, so does not typically cause the laxative effects that some individuals experience with other sugar alcohols, like xylitol and maltitol. Organic Erythritol is a component of our sugar-free sweetener blend, alongside organic stevia and monk fruit, and makes a tasty alternative to sweeteners that can spike blood sugar.

  • Natural Apple Flavour

We believe that functional products should also taste great! The delicious but subtle flavoring of our products is provided by the use of natural flavors from plant-based natural sources. Rest assured, there is no hidden MSG or unmentionable parts of beavers in our natural flavors!

  • Malic Acid

Malic acid is a natural substance found in fruit and vegetables, one of the most common sources being apples. It is also naturally present in our body’s cells and large amounts of it are formed and then eventually broken down again on a daily basis. It possesses many health-related benefits such as boosting immunity, maintaining oral health, reducing the risk of poisoning from a buildup of toxic metals and promoting smoother and firmer skin. Malic acid provides a safe and effective way for us to enhance the flavor and function of our blends.

  • Organic Coconut Water

Tropical regions have always known about the amazing health benefits of tender coconut water, which comes from young green coconuts. Each nut contains about 200 mL to 1 L of coconut water. Coconut water is packed with antioxidants, amino acids, enzymes, B-complex vitamins, vitamin C and minerals like iron, calcium, potassium, magnesium, manganese and zinc.

  • Sea Salt

Pure sea salt retains all essential natural elements from the sea. Sea salt can contain magnesium, calcium, potassium, iron, zinc and iodine. Each of these elements is essential for good human health.

  • Organic Stevia

Stevia is an intensely sweet natural sweetener that is harvested from the stevia rebaudiana plant. Research indicates that stevia sweeteners do not contribute calories or carbohydrates to the diet and do not affect blood glucose or insulin response. Organic stevia is a component of our sugar-free sweetener blend, alongside organic erythritol and monk fruit, and makes a good alternative to sweeteners that can spike blood sugar.

  • Monk Fruit

Monk fruit contains compounds which, when extracted, are 300 times the sweetness of cane sugar but with no calories and no effect on blood sugar. This fruit has been used as a sweetener for centuries across Asia. Thanks to its high antioxidant levels, it has also been used medicinally. Monk is a component of our sugar-free sweetener blend, alongside organic erythritol and organic stevia.
